To Whom It May Concern:

It gives me great pleasure to absolutely recommend that Mr. Kyle Hausmann-Stokes be accepted into the Production Program at the USC School of Cinema-Television. In the fall of 2005, Kyle, while participating in the EUSA foreign exchange program, served as an intern with the LUA Multimedia/Canal Vivir Television Production Company.

During this time, Kyle demonstrated an eagerness to learn and rapid ability to adapt to any situation which we have found to be absolutely essential in the successful integration of students interning in foreign countries. Kyle has become an integral part of our production team while performing the following duties;

•  Served as principal camera assistant for numerous video crews when sent to film reports in the field.

•  Maintained position operating one of three sophisticated studio cameras while in the filming of Campo Abierto and En Plan de Negocio , both nationally televised news-related programs.

•  Aided in the upgrading of the LUA Multimedia website to include Quicktime ® video clips demonstrating a variety of the company's programming.

•  Assisted with the relocation, organization, and merging of two large production company's video libraries.

•  Charged with the task of translating the company's mission statement and programming portfolios from Spanish to English.

•  Worked as a production assistant helping with the construction, lighting, audio recording, and principal photography of a variety of on-location discussion sets including privileged interviews with Spain's communist party leader, Santiago Carrillo, and Ana Botella , first lady to former Prime Minister José María Aznar.

•  Developed technical production proficiency with BetaCam, DVC Pro, ARI Lighting, and hot-head/camera-crane operation.

•  Will have worked over 250 hours assisting in all departments of LUA Multimedia and Canal Vivir to include field camera crew, studio camera crew, AVID editing team, website management, and development.

•  Obtained an intimate knowledge of the Spanish film/television industry while serving as an integral part of an extremely established and well known group of professionals.

Finally, I would like to emphasize something as equally important as Kyle's technical proficiencies. Kyle was received extremely well by all the employees in our company which speaks volumes about his ability to make friends and fully understand the Spanish culture. By observing Kyle's personal values, life experiences, and excellent works in video, we were able to learn about him as a person and the detailed complexities of the American society.

I feel very strongly that the admission of Kyle into your production program will contribute greatly to your students and faculty alike. Kyle is sure to bring with him an intellectual curiosity, open-mindedness, and enthusiasm for the film and television industry which made him such an essential asset to our organization.

Thank you for your attention and consideration in this matter.

Sincerely ,

Manuel Angel Lozano
